A copy
of staff rota showing the staff on duty on
any given time (night or day) is displayed at both the Nurse
Stations. Adequate ratio of
staff to service user is maintained to meet all
the assessed needs of service users in a timely and in a caring
way. We ensure that most of
the staff speak the service users language. More than 70% of the Care staff
have completed NVQ level 2 or equivalent. The Home has sufficient number
of cooks who are Food and Hygiene certified, two laundry ladies, one
handy man and three cleaners. The Home has accreditation from
"Investors in People" for
its efforts in workforce development. The Home has a dedicated Training
Centre. All the staff get regular refresher mandatory training on
regular basis.
Staff
working in this Home are suitably registered with the appropriate body.
As an employer, we have strict employment procedure which we adhere to.
We ensure all vacancies are advertised and we employ the right people to
meet the needs of the service users. We carry out various checks on
possible employees, for example CRB, references and employment history.
All
new staff receive induction training in line with common induction
programme and mandatory training.
All Staff with long term service
are recognized and awarded on a three year basis. We
provide subsidised accommodation to staff. We have a very low
staff turnover.
